The smol léon prince from france

KodaThe Kunjitha Paadham

The world is chaotic. I am here to Paws it.

A Bichon by breed · A Stoic by philosophy · smol since 16 March 2026

Koda
Koda The Kunjitha Paadham — a smol white philosopher with dancing feet.

Hello, friend

I am Koda. I came to teach my hooman how to stand still.

Henlo, fren. They say wisdom comes with age. I do not agree — I arrived with an ancient soul already packed in my lil suitcase, on the sixteenth of March, 2026, a smol white parcel of calm delivered to a hooman who very much needed one. My hooman is Kount. He is fifty. He spends his days chasing the next big thing, answering the next bork of his phone, worrying the next worry. I am eighty-odd days old, and I have already figured out the thing he keeps missing: the top of the hill was never the point.

I am a Bichon Frise — which, in old French, means little beard. So I am, by birth, a smol bearded prince. But there are two sides of me, fren, and you should know both. There is Koda, the Stoic — the deadpan boi who will, now and then, look dead into the camera and tell you something true. And there is the Kunjitha Paadham — the dancer, named for the graceful, curvy feet of Bharatanatyam, an art my hooman's own sister has given her whole life to. Wisdom in the head; heckin zoomies in the paws. I am rarely one without the other.

My hooman calls me his soulmate. I have decided to allow it.

The name

Why a smol french prince is named after a lil bear

In the movie Brother Bear, there is a big, stubborn creature who is very sure he knows the way, and a smol cub named Koda who actually does. My hooman watched that and understood something about us before I even arrived. He is the bear. I am the cub. He is the one still learning; I am the one, somehow, already home. He named me for the lil one who teaches — and he means it, fren.

And bcoz every prince needs a kingdom, mine is split across a whole ocean. I am a bicultural doggo: half my heart on the warm shores of Chennai, half on the golden beaches of California. Some call it complicated. I call it having two heckin good windows to nap in.

“You do not lack a destination. You lack the courage to stand still.” — Koda, on most things

The bearded brotherhood

I am the youngest of a long, glorious line

A prince is nothing without his pack. Mine is scattered now — some home with me, some all grown up and gone across the sea — but a pack does not stop being a pack just bcoz it is spread thin. Let me intro you to my brothers.

Lucky
Lucky — the four-year-old long boi, a big woofer in a smol coat.

Lucky, the Spunky Sentinel

Lucky is a Dachshund — a proper long boi — with the soul of a smol, very serious general. He guards what is his like a much bigger woofer, and he was here long before me. But heck, here is the part that gets me: my hooman named him Lucky after another Lucky — a Dachshund he loved when he was just five years old. One name, two doggos, forty-five years apart. That is how my fam keeps its loves, fren: not by holding on, but by naming them again.

Dotcom
Dotcom — a Dalmatian of the early internet age. Loved entirely off-camera.

Dotcom, the Analog Soul

Before me, before Spikey, there was Dotcom — a Dalmatian named for the era my hooman worked in, back at the dawn of the internet. Dotcom lived a whole soulmate's life before phones had good cameras, before there were feeds to fill. Nobody made him into content. He just got to be — present, un-photographed, free. I think about him a heckin lot. Bcoz if I am the soulmate of the sharing age, then part of my quiet job is to carry the ones who were never filmed. Every pic my hooman takes of me is, in some smol way, a portrait of Dotcom too.

Judo
Judo — a poodle. “Junior Dotcom,” here with a young Mitra.

Judo, the Junior Dotcom

And there is Judo — a poodle whose name is secretly a love letter. My hooman called him Junior Dotcom — Ju · Do — so Dotcom's name would keep padding around the house long after Dotcom himself. Same trick as Lucky, fren: when this fam loves a doggo, it does not let the name end. It hands it, gently, to the next soft soul who needs one.

Spikey
Spikey — the thirteen-year-old Lhasa Apso, the “lion-bearded dog.”

Spikey, the Lion-Beard

Spikey is a Lhasa Apso — a breed whose very name means a bearded lil lion-dog. He was my hooman's soulmate before me. And here is the softest thing I know, fren: when Mitra, my hooman's daughter, left for college, my hooman gave her Spikey. He sent his own soulmate across the whole world so his girl would never feel alone in a new place. That is the entire heart of this house in one act. We do not keep our love. We send it where it is needed.

Snowy
Snowy — a Coton de Tuléar; “a little lemur in the body of a puppy.”

Snowy, the Long-Lost Cousin

Snowy is a Coton de Tuléar — my hooman calls him a smol lemur in the body of a pupper, and honestly? accurate. Cotons and Bichons are old frens, both from the same wandering, white, seafaring lil lapdogs; I like to think our fam once survived a shipwreck and swam to shore like the heckin legends they were. Snowy is in California now, with Mitra and Spikey. I have never met him. He is my long-lost cousin, and meeting him — booping his snoot just once — is, quietly, the dream I am working toward.

Across the ocean

The half of the pack that lives in California

Mitra is my hooman's daughter, away at Pitzer College in Claremont. She did not go alone. Spikey went with her — her soulmate as much as my hooman's — and then Snowy too, so a girl building a brand-new life would always have someone soft to come home to. When I look at these pics, I do not see doggos and a hooman. I see proof that love, in our fam, just travels.

The lineage of soulmates

Every chapter of his life had a doggo in it

From analog to digital — five soulmates, one unbroken thread.

Dispatches from Little France

A smol white republic, forever under siege

I have set up my own sovereign colony — a Little France, a Pondicherry all my own — in my hooman's room. It is my base, my turf, my civilisation. And it is constantly invaded by Lucky, who acts less like a brother and more like a smol, very determined army with very short legs.

Koda Monster
The prince and his most-defended national treasure — the “We Scare Because We Care” monster.

His campaign has two objectives, and I report them with all the seriousness they deserve:

The Fluffy Monster

My beloved “We Scare Because We Care” floof — my one true nap-time comfort, and a national treasure he is forever trying to yoink.

The Mahi-Mahi Jerky

The single most delicious snacc in the known metaverse. Lucky's number-one military objective. I defend it with everything a smol prince has.

We squabble. We negotiate. He yoinks; I sulk; we nap, eventually, in one big floof pile. Bcoz here is the secret the turf wars never quite hide, fren: even a Stoic has a lil brother who raids his snaccs, and loves him anyway.

What this place is

Welcome to Kodascapes

This is my home on the internet — a quiet lil house in a loud world. My hooman has a storyteller's eye; he wanders the dog-friendly beaches and parks, introducing himself (kinda shy about it) as an amateur pupper-portrait photographer in training, taking pics of other hoomans' doggos just for the joy of it. Those portraits live here too. This place is part gallery, part journal, part philosophy desk.

You'll find three things on the feed, fren, and you are welcome to all of them: my Cold Takes (smol, deadpan wisdoms for modern troubles), The Brothers (the cinematic, real-world adventures my hooman and I go on), and everyday life — the naps, the zoomies, and the ongoing border disputes with a long boi.

Join the pack

A million frens, one nap at a time

I am not here to sell you stuff I do not believe in. I am here to keep you a lil calmer, make you do a smol laugh once or twice a day, and remind you — gently, from atop a cushion — that you are allowed to Paws. If that sounds like your kind of prince, come along, fren. We are building something warm here: a smol community of hoomans and doggos, learning to stand still together.
